Shoulder Depression Test

The shoulder depression test is performed to detect the involvement of the brachial plexus and cervical nerve roots.

To perform this test, flex the patient’s head to the opposite side while gradually depressing the shoulder.

This test is considered positive if there is a reproduction or exacerbation of radicular symptoms indicating nerve root compression or brachial plexus involvement.
